6th NYS Amateur & Senior Amateur Mixed Team Championship

Host: Skaneateles Country Club (Skaneateles, NY)

Entry Fee: $225 per team

 

Eligibility

Open to teams of one male and one female amateur golfer who are members of the NYSGA either by (1) belonging to an NYSGA member club or (2) by joining the NYSGA directly as an eClub member. Entrants must have an active USGA Handicap Index.

 

Format

18 holes, modified chapman stroke play, gross and net.

 

Chapman Stroke Play

Two players play as partners, each partner plays from the teeing ground and plays the partner's ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. This format is modified on par-3s, so that the decision as to which ball to play alternately must be made after the tee shot.

 

Ties
A tie for the winner of the championship (gross only) will be broken by sudden death playoff starting on hole #1. Ties for the winner of the net championship will be broken using the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards.

 

Divisions and Age Requirements

Amateur Division (All Ages)

Senior Amateur Division (Men - 55, Women - 50)

 

Tees Played
Men (Blue), Women (White), Senior Men (Green), Senior Women (Red).

 

Handicap Allowances

The player with the lower Course Handicap is allowed 60% of their Course Handicap. The player with the higher Course Handicap is allowed 40% of their Course Handicap.

 

Example: On team A-B, Player A has CH of 10 and Player B has a CH of 18. 60% of Player A's CH is 6 (10 x 60%) and 40% of Player B's CH is 7 (18 x 40% = 7.2, rounded to 7) so the total is 13. Team A-B receives 13 strokes.

Registration
When you arrive at Skaneateles, please check-in beneath the NYSGAtentsetup near the cart staging area. You will have your hole assignment confirmed, receive any special notices, and then be released to warm up!

 

Driving Range
The use of the driving range is included with your entry. Range balls will be on the range when you arrive.

 

Dinner and Halfway House

There is a dinner included with the tournament (cash bar) and will immediately follow the conclusion of play. The menu is Plated-Herb Crusted Chicken with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetable with Charred Tomato Beurre Blanc with a Dessert-Flourless Chocolate with Raspberry Coulis.

 

The club's Halfway House will be open during play (cash only). No additional food service (besides dinner) will be available in the clubhouse.

 

Caddies and Carts

A player is prohibited from using a caddie during this championship. The use of golf carts is included in the entry fee.

 

Refund Policy

The entry fee will be refunded if a team withdraws prior to the close of entries, less a $10 service fee.
